TUNDRA Super Late Models Series ends after 16 seasons
TUNDRA on Facebook: “Tomorrow’s Fall Shootout at Marshfield Motor Speedway will be the final event of the TUNDRA Super Late Model Series. This decision has been months in the making.” The race on Oct. 3rd, 2026 was their final race with Justin Mondeik (No. 44) winning the race and after a broken wheel, Gildan Racing (No. 5b) winning the championship. A fan asked Gildan Racing on Facebook via their championship post, “How did that happen? John (Beale) didn’t even finish the race” Gildan Racing responds, “Due to our points lead all we had to do was start the feature.” Going off this, Ty Fredrickson, with his family-owned Team 36 branding, raced in the other three events and was only 17 points behind the points leader. Fredrickson did not respond to a request for comment before publication. He has been offered a great ARCA deal in the middle of the TUNDRA season. He will be racing at Oktoberfest in La Crosse, WI, on 10/11/26.
Front running contenders all day were John Beale (No. 5b), Justin Mondeik (No. 44), and Penn Sauter (No. 119). Travis Volm (No. 76) was running P4 for a while but had to battle Jerad DeBoer (No. 2) most of the race. After Beale’s DNF, Sauter and Mondeik had a great battle for the win. The last five laps, it looked like Sauter could pass Mondeik, but never got it done. Sauter ends up P2 while, Volm and DeBoer claim P3 and P4. Volm finished the season 2nd in points behind by 20. He didn’t race the season opener at WIR, however, Bobby Kendall did race that race for points, which would go towards Volm for the rest of the season. Kendall ended up scoring 87 points, finishing 11th. Volm went on to finish, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd for the rest of the season. The Dells race was canceled due to weather, so the question remains, what could that have done for the points standings?
John Beale faces issues at Marshfield Finale; still wins TUNDRA championship for Gildan Racing.

John Beale a lap before his spin. His left-front wheel started to bend inward. This lasted about 3 laps before spinning.
This lasted about three laps before Beale finally lost control, sending him around in turn 3.
Beale spun around fully, the number 1 car of Jesse Oudenhoven also spun avoiding Beale.

Gildan Racing suffered a similar-looking issue at WIR during qualifying when Dalton Zehr hit the wall out of turn 4.
All in all, great final TUNDRA season. The series does plan on hosting a 2027 event, though details remain unknown. As for ThrottlePress, we will find a new series to cover in the 2027 season!
